An arsenal of talent is the way I describe Jerry Reed as an actor, entertainer, a musician, a composer and singer. The boy’s got it. Most recently, on the set of “Smokey and the Bandit” I told Reed of my dilemma as I didn’t know what to do about the music. Enough said. A few days later, guitar in hand, he approached me and said, “Hal, listen to this”. He unloaded the arsenal. Out of his mouth came “The Legend”, “East Bound and Down”, “The Bandit”. Not a word or note was ever changed. Jerry, I’ll forever be in your debt for your contributions to “Smokey and the Bandit” as the multi-talented wildman I know you to be.
