Much of the lyrics here were inspired by the writings of the children of Heartlight School. I especially like what nine-year-old David Saphier said. When asked to write what he liked most about his school, his answer was, “I like the love.” Very clean, Davey. For information about Heartlight School, feel free to contact:

Even before my first son was born, all kinds of folks were asking me if I was going to write a song for him. I guess because of “Danny’s Song” it had become one of those things people kind of expected of me, and therefore something I’d really rather not do…if you know what I mean.
Well, then the boy was born, and all I can say is I’ve never felt for anything the kind of love I feel for him.
By the time Mike McDonald and I got together on this tune, I felt very strongly that it was a song about a rebirth of hope. So with all my heart I dedicate this tune to you, Crosby Sullivan Loggins, born December 15, 1980. “When I held you I held a miracle in my hands.”
Musicians:
Piano – Michael McDonald & James Newton Howard
GS-1 – James Newton Howard
String Arrangement – Marty Paich
