For as long as I can remember, these have been my favorite carols. They're as much a part of my family's Christmas as church on Christmas Eve and the get-together around the tree. May these carols make your Christmas an even merrier one.

THE STAR CAROL

TENNESSEE ERNIE FORD

This is Ernie Ford's Christmas songbook, richly reflecting the Christmas of the Tennessee schoolboy, the church choir leader, the mature performer.

For this album, Ernie has chosen carols that are re-born each Christmas in many lands. To hymns from across the sea, he has added three American carols composed by the late Alfred Burt. Performed at first as only family tradition by Burt's father's congregation, these songs were later so well received that they are now carried throughout the nation on recordings, radio, and television.

These carols, and all the others in the album, belong to the American Christmas, to every member of the family. They are sung here by a man of deep religious feeling, sung as honestly as Tennessee Ernie Ford learned them, as honestly as they were written.
