Congratulations on your purchase of this album. An excellent choice made by an obviously discerning listener. Just a quick note (dotted 32nd note) on the music:

Most of it is of average loudness mixed in with some very loud bits and then it gets softer in some spots. there are a lot of major chords along with some minor ones and a few of those weird ones I don't know the name of. Mostly the melodies hang around middle C but then it goes higher for a while. And of course lower in spots. Sometimes there is no singing but there was nothing I could do about that, because the guitars come in real loud and drown everything out anyway. The music itself is a kind of rock/jazz/folk base with a bit of country/soul flavor with a dash of classical/raga and a pinch of muzak. Of course we can't forget the black roots mixed in with just a sprinkling of John Phillips Sousa marches and then you stir all of this in with a fork. This fork was in the road so wash it off. Then serve the whole thing with a summons. Now that you have accomplished all that, do you mind telling me what the hell you were doing? And right in the middle of my liner notes, too!

My piano teacher once told me: "Andrew, when you get to be my age, you come to know the meaning of the word!"

I asked her, "What word is that?"
"WHOOPLA MY BOY, WHOOPLA!"

Well, right away I knew that all her bread wasn't in the oven, but it just goes to show that you never know what I am going to say next.

The great thing about music is how it always never ceases to constantly not fail to always never cease. Of course, I had to go to music school to learn that, you can't just pick it up. You'd get a hernia. Weight a minute, I think there is a pun there.

One great thing about this album is Peter Asher's production. He's got red hair like me, so there was no linguistics problem or anything. His is darker red, sort of like mine only darker red. Val the engineer doesn't have red hair but we got an interpreter.

Sometimes I have people coming up to me saying, "Boy do I envy you, living the musician's life, doing something you enjoy doing, getting paid huge sums of money, getting up whenever you feel like it, having an extremely active romantic life (with beautiful women), laugh and singing all the time." Well, that may be true, however there are times when all that can be a definitive drawback. I can't think of any examples right now, but I'm sure there must be some.

We had a lot of great people playing on this album. Most of them had to leave early.

Andrew
