The following are the Liner Notes for The Beatles original British LPs and the 1986-1987 first generation Beatle CDs. With the exception of Sgt. Pepper, all the Liner Notes for the original LPs and the first generation CDs are identical.

The Beatles had released many singles during their career. They insisted that these singles not be included on the original British albums. Against their wishes, a large amount of them were placed on various American versions of their albums (and the songs were rearranged as Capitol Records desired). When the first generation CDs were released (starting in 1986) these singles had to be placed across two CDs called "Past Masters, Volume 1 and 2." Links are below.
